A Grateful Acknowledgment to My Amazing Supporters

Dear Friends,
This project, "Story from My Village," has been a journey of passion, storytelling, and connection. None of it would have been possible without each of you who chose to support and believe in this vision. Your generosity and encouragement have not only brought this dream to life but also made it a shared story of collective hope and effort.
I want to take a moment to thank every one of you personally. You are the foundation of this project, and your names deserve to be celebrated:

The background of the project is a simple question, it is the first question a person asks a stranger: "where do you come from?“ With photographs and stories told by locals, we will make a book, which will take you on a journey through one most remote and culturally rich regions of Greenland.

Due to the vast geographical distance from north to south and east to west, and the presence of the second-largest ice sheet on Earth, Greenland as a nation is physically divided.
My hope is that this project will serve as a bridge uniting the nation through the ancient act of storytelling. Precisely what happens when a distant traveler is asked, 'Where do you come from?'
The project, in the form of a book, will journey across Greenland, bringing to light the unique stories from the Upernavik district, narrated by its own residents. These are tales from a region seldom visited by many of their fellow Greenlanders. In doing so, it aims to unite the nation as in times past when travelers met and gathered intents, an oil lamp flickering, dogs weathering the storm outside, while inside, stories from different parts of the land were exchanged.

In the summer of 2022, we embarked on an extraordinary month-long adventure through the challenging waters of northern Greenland. Sailing over 400 kilometers in an open boat, we visited 9 settlements in the Upernavik region, a region with a rich hunting and fishing culture that is gradually disappearing.
